Following a Changing Light
Strathearn Gallery
Strathearn Gallery presented Following a Changing Light, a solo exhibition of 40 works by Helen. “Helen is known for her emotionally charged, immersive paintings that explore the raw beauty of Scotland's untamed landscapes. Working in oil, she builds complex layers of tone, texture, and colour, shifting between abstraction and realism to capture the elemental presence of land, sea, and sky. At the heart of this collection is Helen's enduring fascination with light - its fleeting, transformative quality, and the way it alters how we experience the world around us.”
Following a Changing Light is a contemplative and atmospheric collection that invites viewers to pause, be present, and reconnect with the natural world. Each painting offers a sensory response to place - not as a fixed location, but as a felt experience where mist drifts, landforms dissolve, and memory lingers. Subtle and immersive, the work encourages us to look beyond the darkness and notice the quiet, often overlooked beauty in transition.
