While I look forward to receiving studio visitors, I am also aware that much of my audience is unable to make the journey to Fife. I am only sorry I am unable to send through the airwaves the smell of turpentine that enhances any studio visit but I do hope that from the work you see here you can sense the salt and the silence, the fervour, the weight of the air and the travelling light with the paintings. Landscape painting for me is rarely about what I simply see but more often about the unseen. The observation of a world within and an understanding of the systems at play in the wider context of environment and climate. Time is a factor that touches most pieces, the overlap of moments to make the whole.

“As artists we all strive to find our voices, our mark. It is what makes us who we are and gives us our identity.
